Currently, our Tampa Bay real estate market is comprised almost entirely of short and bank owned/ REO homes.  Bank owned homes are typically the best deals on the market and are usually very easy to close.  The difficult part is to be the buyer that wins the bid and gets to buy the home.

A bank owned home will usually not be listed on the MLS for more than a week before they have attained several offers and go under contract.  Therefore, it is very important to beat other buyers to the punch.  You should place an offer on a bank owned home immediately when it is posted or, when possible, before it is posted on the MLS.
